Who We Are

Welcome to Thanet Mediation Centre (TMC), a dedicated team of professional mediators serving East Kent and beyond. We specialise in facilitating constructive conversations that preserve relationships and help people move forward when they feel stuck. TMC is run by The WayFinders Group through ClearPaths WayFinders CIC.

Leadership

Leah Brown FRSA is passionate about helping people disagree well. As an accredited mediator with the Society of Mediators, and the Founder and CEO of The WayFinders Group, Leah brings exceptional expertise to TMC. She is a practising corporate lawyer with a heart for reconciliation and transformation. Beyond her professional life, Leah is a professional speaker, writer, violinist and proud resident of Broadstairs.

Our mediators

Shelley Ruck is an accredited community mediator with over 15 years in the charity sector, working across diverse communities and cultures internationally. She listens for what’s said and what’s left unsaid, bringing patience, fairness and genuine care to every session.

Kate Lewis believes most conflicts are really about something that hasn’t yet been said out loud, and works patiently to create the conditions where it can surface. A trauma-informed mediator with a PhD from Goldsmiths and accreditations in SEND, civil, commercial and community mediation, she works across co-parenting, community, commercial and workplace disputes.

Our Mission

At TMC, we believe that mediation offers a powerful alternative to conflict. Our experienced mediators work with individuals and organisations to find common ground, develop mutual understanding, and create lasting solutions.

Location

We provide confidential mediation services by appointment at The Corner in Ramsgate. Virtual sessions are also available by special arrangement for those unable to attend in person. We also provide services in Margate, Broadstairs and Canterbury.

Professional Standards

Our consultant mediators are accredited members of prestigious organisations including the Society of Mediators, Civil Mediation Council, UK Mediation and CEDR. Mediators with other professional accreditations may also offer their services from time to time, ensuring the highest standards of practice.
